The College of Postgraduate Studies has officially released the schedule for the mandatory orientation programme for all fresh postgraduate students admitted into the Nsukka and Enugu campuses for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This comprehensive two-day event is designed to introduce new students to the academic culture, resources, and support systems available within the university.

Day 1, scheduled for Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, will focus on Departmental and Faculty Orientation. The day's activities will commence with Departmental Sessions from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, featuring an opening prayer, addresses by the Head of Department, Departmental Postgraduate Coordinator, and a Senior Academic, followed by a Q&A session and a tour of departmental teaching and research facilities.

The Faculty Sessions will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, including an opening prayer, addresses by the Dean of Faculty and the Faculty Representative to the CPGS Board, as well as a tour of faculty research facilities and library.

Day 2, scheduled for Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, will be a General Online Orientation. The virtual event will feature key addresses from university leadership, including the Provost, College of Postgraduate Studies, and the Vice-Chancellor, as well as specialized presentations on topics such as Artificial Intelligence tools in Postgraduate Research and Scholarship, Navigating the Nigerian Entrepreneurial Ecosystem, and Optimal use of library resources in modern research.

Other presentations will include ICT Tools for Research, Postgraduate Welfare, and Self-care and Care for Others. The online orientation will conclude with a final Q&A session and a closing prayer.

All admitted students are expected to participate fully in these sessions as they provide essential information for a successful academic journey.
