The Facebook account in question is fraudulent and was not created or managed by the President/Vice-Chancellor or Babcock University. As a result, any messages, requests, solicitations, or directives from this account should be disregarded as they are not legitimate.
It is essential to note that Babcock University and the Office of the President/Vice-Chancellor do not solicit funds, request personal information, or conduct official university business through unofficial social media accounts or private messaging platforms.
The University is working with Meta and relevant security agencies to shut down the fake account and investigate this breach. To protect themselves, students, staff, and the general public are advised to take the following precautions: do not engage with the fake Facebook account, do not share personal or financial information if contacted, report and block the fake account immediately, and report any suspicious activity to the university through official channels only.
