The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced the change of course and institution process for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Candidates can now effect changes to their course or institution at accredited centres or JAMB offices.

To start the process, candidates are required to visit an accredited centre or JAMB office with their registration slip. It is essential to note that a payment of ₦2,500, plus a service charge, typically ranging from ₦700 to ₦1,000, will be required for the process.

Here is a step-by-step guide to help candidates navigate the change of institution/course process:

A. Visit an Accredited CBT Centre: Candidates should walk into any JAMB-approved centre with their registration slip.

B. Request for Correction of Data: Inform the officer that you wish to perform a 'Change of Institution' or 'Change of Course.'

C. Payment: A mandatory fee of ₦2,500 (plus a CBT service charge, usually ₦700 to ₦1,000) is typically required.

D. Data Update: Provide your new choices (First, Second, Third, or Fourth choice) to the operator.

E. Biometric Verification: You will be required to thumbprint to authorize the change.

F. Print Confirmation: Ensure you collect your Change of Data Slip as proof of the transaction.
