The Students' Representative Council of Gombe State University has expressed deep concern over the recent destruction of facilities in the newly renovated male hostel.
This development comes after the University Management, in collaboration with the SRC, invested efforts to improve the welfare of students through the renovation of the hostel facilities. It is disappointing to note that some individuals have chosen to destroy these facilities, which are meant to benefit the entire student body.
Students are reminded that the hostel facilities are shared properties that must be protected and preserved for the benefit of all.
The SRC is issuing a final warning to all students: any individual found to be vandalizing or deliberately damaging hostel facilities will be reported to the relevant University authorities and will face disciplinary action. The sanctions for such offenses may include payment for damages, withdrawal of hostel accommodation, rustication, or expulsion, as outlined in the University's regulations.
The SRC will not hesitate to support the University in identifying and sanctioning individuals responsible for vandalism.
All students are urged to take an active role in protecting these facilities and to report any acts of vandalism to the Hall Management or the SRC.
This warning serves as a final notice to all students.
Any further acts of vandalism will be met with the full force of the University's disciplinary procedures.
