Applications are now being accepted from eligible candidates for postgraduate studies at Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi. The offerings include Postgraduate Diplomas, Master’s degrees and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The online application portal was launched at 07:00 hrs on Monday, 10 August 2026 and will remain open until 18:00 hrs on Friday, 27 November 2026.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• (1) Applicants must first satisfy the O’Level criteria required for a first‑degree award at Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, including a credit in English and Mathematics for the Faculties of Sciences, Management and Environmental Science.
• (2) For the Postgraduate Diploma track, candidates must additionally hold either a Higher National Diploma (HND) or a first degree of at least Third‑Class standing from Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University or any institution recognised by the university’s Senate.
• (3) Prospective Master’s students must, besides meeting the O’Level condition, possess a relevant first degree with a minimum of Lower Second Class (CGPA ≥ 2.50) awarded by Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University or a university approved by its Senate.
• (4) Applicants aiming for a PhD must, in addition to the O’Level requirement, have obtained a strong Master’s qualification with a CGPA of at least 3.50 from Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University or any other university recognised by the Senate.

GENERAL REGULATIONS

All programmes commence with coursework and conclude with a final project: a Project for Postgraduate Diplomas and a Dissertation or Thesis for Master’s and Doctoral degrees respectively.

• (i) Postgraduate Diploma programmes run for a minimum of one year and may extend up to two years.
• (ii) Master’s degree courses are normally scheduled for at least two academic years for full‑time students, with a maximum of three years permissible at the time of registration.
• (iii) Doctoral programmes typically require a minimum of three academic years for full‑time study, with an upper limit of six years from the date of registration.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Applications are processed exclusively through the university’s online portal. Prospective students should navigate to https://portal.bsum.edu.ng/login.jsp.

• i) Access the portal and click the application link.
• ii) Under the Postgraduate School section, select “Start Application,” enter your name, choose the desired programme and submit.
• iii) The system will generate an e‑payment slip displaying both a payment reference number and an application number.
• iv) Candidates may settle the fee online or visit the designated Fidelity Bank with a printed copy of the e‑payment form to pay the non‑refundable application charge of N20,000.
• v) After payment confirmation, return to the portal (https://portal.bsum.edu.ng/login.jsp), navigate to the Application area, click on Postgraduate, and complete the online form. Upload all academic credentials and supporting documents, then submit. It is advisable to print a hard copy of the completed form for your records.
• vi) Ensure that the three referees complete the online reference forms.
• vii) Applications lacking the required uploaded documents will be rejected.
• viii) Applicants must arrange for their former institutions to forward official academic transcripts to: The Secretary, Postgraduate School, Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi. Transcripts should be accompanied by transcript request forms, which can be printed from the portal.

Guidelines for filling application forms

Candidates should answer every field in the application form; any submission with missing information will be considered void. The intended course of study and any specific area of specialization must be clearly indicated. It is essential that official transcripts be sent directly by the previous university to the Postgraduate School; applications without these official records will not be processed. An individual may apply for only one degree or diploma programme at any given time.
