UNN: Post-UTME Aptitude Test Guidelines For 2026/2027…

Aug, 19Views: 4

General Instructions

  • The Post‑UTME Aptitude Test will be administered online under remote surveillance. All candidates must follow the rules throughout the entire session.
  • Dress appropriately so that the monitoring team can clearly identify you at any moment. Audio and video streams will be recorded continuously to protect the test’s integrity and to allow verification if needed.
  • Ensure you have a stable, high‑speed internet connection before you start and maintain it for the whole duration of the exam.
  • The test may only be taken on a laptop that has a built‑in webcam and microphone. Use of smartphones, tablets, external webcams, virtual cameras, HDMI‑linked monitors, or any similar peripheral devices is strictly forbidden.
  • Keep your webcam unobstructed for the whole examination period. Any blockage or interruption that prevents continuous visual monitoring may lead to disqualification or cancellation of your attempt.
  • Remain seated and fully visible within the camera frame from the moment you begin until you finish, unless you receive a specific exemption from the University or the testing platform.
  • The exam lasts thirty (30) minutes. Timing starts the instant you click the "Start" button. You may submit your answers manually by pressing the “Submit” button, or the system will auto‑submit when the allotted time expires.
  • Wearing face masks, caps (including fez caps), headphones, earbuds, earpieces, wrist‑watches, bracelets, smart glasses, or any comparable wearable electronic device is prohibited. Your face and ears must stay completely exposed throughout the session.
  • It is strongly recommended that you use your personal laptop. If you opt to sit in a business centre or cybercafé, you do so at your own risk and remain fully responsible for meeting every requirement, including maintaining an isolated, disturbance‑free environment.
  • Your testing space must be quiet and free from interruptions or background noise for the whole duration. Failure to keep the environment silent may result in disqualification.
  • Adequate lighting is mandatory so that the proctors can continuously identify you. Poor illumination or insufficient visibility may also lead to disqualification.
  • Access to the examination platform is permitted only on your assigned date and within the scheduled time slot.

Directions for Accessing the Examination

  • Step 1: Open the UNN portal at unnportal.unn.edu.ng and click the “Take PUTME Exam” link located on the navigation bar to reach the login page.
  • Step 2: Input your JAMB Registration Number together with the Examination OTP printed on your registration slip.
  • Step 3: Read the displayed instructions carefully, then press the Start Examination button.
  • Step 4: Grant the platform permission to use your camera and microphone; a live video feed of you will appear on the left‑hand panel.
  • Step 5: Click the “Join Room” button to enter the virtual examination classroom and commence the test.

EXAMINATION MISCONDUCT

  • No other individual may be present in, or enter, the immediate testing area while you are taking the exam. The presence of an unauthorised person will be treated as misconduct and can lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Any act that amounts to impersonation, unauthorised assistance, communication with another person, use of prohibited devices, multiple simultaneous logins, or any other form of cheating will be classified as examination misconduct. Such violations may result in the cancellation of your test, withdrawal from the screening process, and additional disciplinary action deemed appropriate by the University.
  • You must not read the questions aloud, speak to anyone, or engage in any behaviour that could compromise the exam’s fairness. Breaches will be dealt with severely, including possible disqualification.
  • The University reserves the right to investigate and adjudicate any alleged technical failures, misconduct, or breaches of these guidelines.
  • Switching browser tabs during the exam is strictly prohibited; you may keep only one tab open for the entire duration.

FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS

  • Ensure that your laptop’s battery is fully charged or that you have a reliable power source throughout the test.
  • Close all unrelated applications and notifications before you begin to avoid accidental interruptions.
  • Keep a government‑issued ID handy in case the proctors request additional verification.
  • If you encounter any technical difficulty, note the exact time and nature of the problem and contact the UNN examination support team immediately via the email provided on the portal.
  • Remember that any deviation from the stipulated procedures may be interpreted as a violation and could affect your eligibility for admission.

Mock Examination Guidelines

Candidates should employ the identical laptop, internet connection, and testing environment they intend to use for the actual Post‑UTME Aptitude Test when taking the mock examination.

Purpose of the Mock Examination

The mock test is intended exclusively to confirm that the device, web browser, webcam, microphone, and internet link function correctly, and that the overall system is ready for the real assessment. Scores from this trial will not influence the final admission decision.

Mock Examination Schedule

The trial will take place on Saturday, 22 August 2026, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Participants must first register on the UNN Portal and pay a fee of #1000 to be eligible. The official Post‑UTME exam will be administered online on dates that will be announced shortly. Applicants are encouraged to obtain the Official UNN Post‑UTME Past Questions and Answers, as this material will greatly aid their preparation. CLICK HERE to get yours.

Registration Procedure for the Mock Examination

  • a. Click the "Application for Post UTME Mock Exam" button located at the top of the UNN Portal.
  • b. Begin the registration by entering your JAMB Registration Number and the Remita RRR provided for your application.
  • c. Review the information you entered and select "GET OTP" to have a one‑time password sent to your registered email address.
  • d. Input the OTP received via email, check the confirmation box, and press the "Register for Mock Examination" button to produce your mock registration invoice.
  • e. Complete payment through Remita using your preferred payment channel.
  • f. Once payment is confirmed, return to the UNN portal and repeat steps a. through d. to finalize your registration and print the acknowledgment slip.

Acknowledgment Slip Details

Please record the exam information shown on the acknowledgment slip for future reference.

Responsibility for Power and Connectivity

Candidates bear full responsibility for maintaining an uninterrupted electricity supply and stable internet connection throughout the examination period. The University will not be held accountable for any disruptions caused by power outages, internet service provider issues, or any other technical problems originating from the candidate’s side.

Identity Verification

The University retains the authority to confirm the identity of any examinee before, during, or after the test. If a candidate’s identity cannot be satisfactorily verified, the examination result may be nullified.

Compliance with Instructions

All candidates must adhere to every directive issued by the University before, during, and after the examination. Ignorance of these directives will not be accepted as a valid excuse for non‑compliance.

Right to Modify Examination

The University may suspend, postpone, reschedule, or cancel the examination—or any portion of it—if circumstances warrant, without incurring liability.

Investigation of Technical or Conduct Issues

The University reserves the right to examine, investigate, and rule on any incidents involving alleged technical failures, examination misconduct, or breaches of the provided instructions.

Final Decision Authority

Decisions made by the University concerning the administration, conduct, and outcomes of the Post‑UTME Aptitude Test are final and binding on all candidates.
