The Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) in Oyo has scheduled its 32nd Inaugural Lecture for Tuesday, 6 October 2026.

The presentation, titled “Invisible Giants: The Microbial Forces Securing Food, Protecting Health and Sustaining Life on Earth,” will be delivered by Professor Afolake Atinuke Olanbiwoninu, who holds the Chair of Food Microbiology at the university.

The talk will examine the contributions of microorganisms to food security, human health and the broader sustainability of life, underscoring the pivotal role that microbial activity plays across many aspects of human existence.

The event is set to take place in the Modupe and Folorunso Alakija Faculty of Law Lecture Auditorium, Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, with proceedings beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Overall responsibility for the ceremony rests with Vice‑Chancellor Professor Ebunoluwa O. Oduwole, who will preside as the chief chair, while Deputy Vice‑Chancellor (Administration) Professor A. O. Binuyo will serve as Chairman of the Ceremonials Committee.
