Categories of JAMB Data Correction

Candidates can make corrections in the following categories:

• Names Correction: This service allows the correction of spelling or arrangement errors in names, such as Surname, Firstname, or Lastname. This correction can only be done once.
• Date of Birth Correction: Candidates can correct errors in their date of birth. This is a one-time opportunity.
• Passport Photograph Correction: Errors in the submitted passport photograph can be corrected once.
• Gender Correction: Gender-related errors can be corrected with supporting documents. This correction is allowed only once.
• State/LGA Correction: Corrections to State or LGA of Origin require supporting documents and can only be done once.
• Profile Correction: Any necessary corrections in the profile can be made once.
• Choice of Institution/Course Correction: Candidates can change their choice of course or institution. Unlike other categories, this correction can be done multiple times with separate payments.

The fee for corrections such as Course/Institution, Names, Date of Birth, Gender, State/LGA of Origin, etc., is N2,500 (two thousand five hundred naira only).

How to Perform JAMB Change of Course/Institution/Data

To make any of the corrections mentioned above, follow these steps:

1. Visit the JAMB portal at JAMB eFacility.
2. Log in with your Email and Password.
3. Click on ‘Registration (2024 only)’ from the list of services on the left side.
4. From the drop-down menu, select ‘2024 UTME Data Correction’ / ‘2024 DE Data Correction’ as applicable.
5. Proceed with the payment.

After making the payment, visit the nearest JAMB office or a JAMB accredited center to complete the correction process.

For 2022 and Earlier Registrations: JAMB Change of Course & Institution/Data Correction Procedure

For candidates who registered in 2023 or earlier and need to change their data on the JAMB portal, follow these steps:

1. Visit the JAMB eFacility portal.
2. Log in with your Email and Password.
3. Click on ‘Application for Correction of Data (2023 Downward)’ from the list of services on the left side.
4. From the drop-down menu, select the category you wish to correct, such as Course/Institution, Name, Date of Birth, Gender, or State/LGA of Origin.

Note that some corrections may require a visit to the JAMB State Office.

All corrections must be done by the applicant themselves to avoid errors and complications. Corrections should not be done by proxy.
