Candidates who selected the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) as their first choice in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) are invited to participate in the Screening Exercise for admissions. The conditions for eligibility are as follows:

Application Period

• Start Date: August 1, 2024
• End Date: August 31, 2024

Eligibility Criteria

• UTME Candidates: Must have scored a minimum of 150 in their UTME.
• Direct Entry Candidates: Must hold OND/HND/First Degree and A’Level in relevant disciplines and subjects.
• Candidates Who Did Not Choose FUTO as First Choice: Those who scored a minimum of 150 can also apply provided they change their institution to FUTO on the JAMB website.

Mode of Payment and Registration Procedure

Eligible candidates are required to pay a processing fee of Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00).

Registration Steps

1. Visit the University website
2. Click on “Prospective Students.”
3. Select “Undergraduate.”
4. Click on “2024/2025 POST-UTME/Direct Entry Application.”
5. Enter your JAMB Registration Number to generate a Payment Invoice containing the Remita Retrieval Reference Number (RRR).
6. Proceed to any Bank with the payment invoice or pay with your ATM Card.
7. Return to the Application page and enter your JAMB Registration Number again.
8. Complete the form accurately.
9. Enter your O’Level results correctly.
10. Confirm your entries and submit your application.
11. Print out your acknowledgment slip.
12. Await further communication from the University.

Candidates who complete the registration process will be able to upload their O’Level credentials for screening through a provided link.

Nature of the Screening Exercise

The 2024/2025 Post-UTME and Direct Entry Screening Exercise will be based on verified JAMB scores and WAEC/GCE/NECO/NABTEB results uploaded on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

Important Notices

• Choose your department based on your JAMB score.
• Depending on your JAMB score, you may need to visit JAMB CAPS to change your program of choice and apply for the same on the Post-UTME application portal.
• Ensure that your details on JAMB CAPS match those on the Post-UTME application portal, including JAMB Registration number, date of birth, state of origin, etc.
• Provide a valid mobile number and email address for further communications.
• Upload your O’Level results on the JAMB portal no later than August 31, 2024.
• Provide the appropriate scratch card for the verification of your O’Level results.
• Failure to register within the specified period disqualifies you from the exercise.
• Only candidates who successfully submit applications online will be considered for admission.
• Admission is not influenced by intermediaries or payments to unauthorized persons.

For Direct Entry Candidates

In addition to the above requirements:

• Ensure that your academic transcript is sent to The Registrar, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo state, no later than August 31, 2024.
• Failure to submit your academic transcript will result in disqualification from admission consideration.
