Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH) management has announced a postponement of the National Association of Kano State Students (NAKSS) leadership elections.
The initial election date was set for Thursday, August 6, 2026, but according to a circular from the Office of the Deputy Dean, Students' Affairs, dated August 6, 2026, the election has been rescheduled.
The new election date is now Tuesday, August 11, 2026. This change was made due to certain administrative and logistical circumstances that were beyond the university's control.
The Students' Affairs Division explained that the additional time would be used to ensure all necessary security measures, voting infrastructure, and logistical arrangements are in place for a peaceful, transparent, free, and fair election.
The university apologized for any inconvenience this postponement may cause to contestants, their campaign teams, and the student body. Students are urged to remain patient and cooperative throughout the electoral process.
Meanwhile, all aspirants are allowed to continue their campaigns during the extended period. However, the management emphasized that all candidates and their supporters must strictly adhere to the established election guidelines and code of conduct.
