The Federal Ministry of Education clarified that the body calling itself the National Parent‑Teacher Association of the Federal Unity Colleges is neither recognised nor authorised by the Ministry, and it does not speak for the individual PTAs of the 118 Federal Unity Colleges across the country.

The Ministry emphasised that this group lacks any mandate to represent the colleges, their PTA branches, parents or guardians. Therefore, any proclamation, instruction, appeal or communication released by the group carries no official weight and should be ignored by the public.

Parents and guardians were instructed to depend solely on formal notices issued by the Federal Ministry of Education and the management of their own Federal Unity College when dealing with school‑related matters, student affairs, or academic programmes.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, called on parents and guardians to verify that their children and wards are enrolled in the appropriate Federal Unity Colleges, noting that the 2026/2027 academic session has already begun nationwide.

The Minister also reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to the efficient running of the Federal Unity Colleges and to ensuring that learners enjoy a safe, conducive and supportive environment for education and overall development throughout the current session.
