The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has issued a notice that it is temporarily halting the registration and application process for the NELFUND loan for the upcoming 2026/2027 academic session.

The announcement, dated September 29, 2026, comes from the University Management, which instructed all current and prospective students to refrain from submitting any further NELFUND registration requests at this time.

The management explained that the suspension is driven by three main reasons:

• The institution has not yet formally launched the 2026/2027 academic term.
• The newly ratified tuition and other school charges for the 2026/2027 session have not been finalized nor posted on the NELFUND online portal.
• Proceeding with registration now could result in applicants using outdated fee structures, which may trigger verification problems, delay disbursements, and jeopardize the approval of the loan.

Consequently, UNIUYO indicated that the NELFUND portal specific to the university will be temporarily deactivated to avoid students entering incorrect fee data.

Students are urged to await a subsequent official communication that will be released once the 2026/2027 session officially commences and the revised fee schedule has been uploaded onto the NELFUND platform.
