Kogi State University, Kabba (KSUK) announced the official timetable for the 2026/2027 academic year after the University Senate gave its approval during the 16th Regular Meeting on Thursday, 23 July 2026.

First Semester

Resumption, Registration and Orientation for New Students: October 5–16, 2026

New entrants will begin their studies, complete registration and attend orientation activities from 5 to 16 October 2026.

Resumption, Registration and Orientation for Returning Students: October 12–16, 2026

Students returning to the university will resume classes, register and take part in orientation between 12 and 16 October 2026.

Lectures (Teaching Weeks 1–9): October 19–December 18, 2026

Instructional weeks one through nine are slated for the period 19 October to 18 December 2026.

Christmas/New Year Break: December 21, 2026–January 1, 2027

The campus will observe a holiday recess from 21 December 2026 through 1 January 2027.

Lectures (Teaching Weeks 10–15): January 4–February 12, 2027

Teaching weeks ten to fifteen will run from 4 January to 12 February 2027.

Continuous Assessment (CA):

• December 7–11, 2026 (Week 10)
• February 15–19, 2027 (Week 20)

These two windows are designated for continuous assessment activities.

Revision: February 15–19, 2027

A revision period is scheduled concurrently with the second CA window, from 15 to 19 February 2027.

First Semester Examinations: February 22–March 5, 2027

Examination sessions for the first semester will be held between 22 February and 5 March 2027.

Marking: March 8–19, 2027

The marking of first‑semester papers is planned for 8 to 19 March 2027.

Result Processing: March 22–26, 2027

Final results will be processed from 22 through 26 March 2027.

Second Semester

Resumption/Registration: March 22–26, 2027

The second semester will commence with registration and class resumption from 22 to 26 March 2027.

Lectures (Teaching Weeks 1–8): March 22–May 14, 2027

Teaching weeks one to eight for the second semester are set for 22 March through 14 May 2027.

Continuous Assessment (CA):

• May 10–14, 2027 (Week 8)
• June 28–July 2, 2027 (Week 16)

These periods are allocated for continuous assessment in the second semester.

Students' Week (No Lectures): May 17–21, 2027

A dedicated Students' Week without lectures will occur from 17 to 21 May 2027.

Lectures (Teaching Weeks 9–15): May 24–July 2, 2027

Teaching weeks nine through fifteen will take place between 24 May and 2 July 2027.

Revision: July 5–9, 2027

A revision interval is planned for 5 to 9 July 2027.

Second Semester Examinations: July 12–23, 2027

Examination period for the second semester is scheduled from 12 to 23 July 2027.

Marking: July 26–August 6, 2027

Marking of second‑semester examinations will run from 26 July to 6 August 2027.

External Examination and Moderation of Results: August 8–12, 2027

External review and result moderation are set for 8 to 12 August 2027.

The university also confirmed that all nationally recognized public holidays will be observed throughout the session.
