University of Jos management has announced the immediate suspension of all non-academic activities in university halls.
The directive was issued through an internal memorandum by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, dated 28 July 2026, and addressed to the university community.
According to the notice, the suspension applies to all staff, students, unions, and other users of the university halls, and they are directed to stop using these facilities for non-academic purposes until further notice.
The measure is effective immediately and will remain in place until the management lifts the suspension, at which point a fresh notice will be issued to announce the resumption of normal use of the facilities.
The university has apologized for any inconvenience caused by the decision and appealed to the university community for understanding and cooperation during the suspension period.
Students, staff, and stakeholders are advised to comply with the directive and await further communication from the university authorities before organizing or participating in any non-academic activities within the university halls.
