The University of Port Harcourt’s Students’ Union Government (SUG) has declared that all current examinations are being halted and deferred indefinitely, in response to the evolving circumstances that are disrupting academic operations at the university.
This notice follows a previous official communication released by the SUG on September 16, 2026, in which the union reported receiving clarification about the issues impacting academic activities.
That earlier circular mentioned rumors of a continuing strike and indicated that dialogues and remedial actions were still underway to resolve the matter.
The union also reported instances where certain students were instructed to vacate their exam venues, and it urged the student body to stay composed while awaiting further official statements.
