Respite As Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, AAUA Begins Digitization Administration of Academic Transcripts, Certificate, Hostel
• Alumni Set to Build Hostels in Six Months
Respite will now come the way of both students and alumni of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, as efforts are at the pick to digitise administration of academic transcripts, certificate and clearance for alumni, and allocation of hostels for students.
This was the upshot of the symbiotic engagements of the University Management and the leadership of the Alumni Association to make AAUA globally comparable.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, revealed the development today during a Feedback Meeting between the University Management and the Worldwide leadership of the AAUA Alumni Association under the Presidency of Mr. Patrick Oluyide.
The VC hinted the meeting that the University Management was only waiting for the final demonstration of the software for the digitisation which, according to him, would take place next week.
Prof. Ajibefun, who appreciated the association for being a committed partner in building a desired 21st Century University, said the challenge of administration of academic transcripts and issuance of certificate would be a thing of the past before the end of the first quarter of this year.
While thanking all stakeholders for their contributions towards the 2016 raking of Nigerian Universities by the National Universities Commission, NUC, which ranked AAUA 31st, the VC sought the supports of all stakeholders, including students, alumni, staff, parents and individuals to improve on the ranking and other areas of development of the University.
Speaking, the Alumni President reiterated the resolves of the association to be a dependable partner in progress, adding that the association would not renege on its promise to donate the necessary equipment that would fast-track the processing of the academic transcripts and certificates
Mr. Oluyide noted that provision of accommodation for students and staff was on the association’s wish list last year.
He, therefore said, “In the year 2017, in addition to other projects and programmes, the Alumni looks forward to easing students’ accommodation challenges in the university, with the building of an alumni hostel. We are hoping to start building in April and we hope that it will be completed in October.”
He appealed to all members of the association, well-meaning individual and corporate organizations to contribute towards the hotel project and the Alumni Multipurpose Secretariat Building.
The meeting was attending by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administrative), Prof. Olugbenga Ige; the Registrar, Mr. Sunday Ayeerun; Representative of the Bursar, Mr. Fapohunda, the University Librarian, Dr. Rotimi Egunjobi, among others.
