The Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) Senate has approved the rustication of 20 students found guilty of examination misconduct. The decision, effective from the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic session, was made after the Students' Disciplinary Committee Report was presented during the 138th Regular Senate Meeting.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, 11 March, 2026, at the Twin-Theatre of the Main Campus, saw the Chairman of the Senate and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Khalid Othman, affirm that the decision aligns with Section 13.3, subsection 13.3c of the University's Policy on Examination Irregularity & Academic Misconducts.
Prof. Othman commended the Committee members for their commitment to FUDMA's examination misconduct policies and for ensuring due process, fairness, firmness, and justice. He stated that the Senate's decision aims to signal to all students the importance of adhering to the rules and to deter those who might consider violating them.
All affected students were given the opportunity to defend themselves before the Committee. The comprehensive list of affected students, including their matriculation numbers and departments, has been compiled.
