The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates, 2026 - second series, has commenced registration. The current registration fee is N27,000.
Registration for WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2026-Second Series will be online. After obtaining the Registration PIN, candidates should log on to www.waeconline.org.ng for registration. The registration procedure has been designed to accommodate biometric features that will be used for validation at the examination centres.
Candidates are also informed that all WAEC Past Questions, both objective and theory, together with their solutions and answers, are now available online. This will be the first time WAEC is using Computer-Based Testing (CBT). Candidates are advised to prepare for the exam using available resources to get familiar with the CBT environment and cover WAEC Past questions.
The registration period ends with the closing date for Generation of PIN on Friday, July 31, 2026. Intending candidates are advised to complete their Biometrics capturing and Online registration by 11:59pm on Sunday, August 2nd, 2026.
The mode of payment involves a registration fee of Twenty Seven Thousand Naira (N27,000) only, at branches of any of the following banks or any accredited agent. Candidates will also be requested to pay five hundred naira (N500.00) commission to the banks/accredited agents. Cashless payment channels are also available for procuring registration tokens with credit/debit cards.
Candidates who wish to register for the examination after the close of entries may be accommodated as 'Walk-in-Candidates' provided they register not less than twenty-four hours to the scheduled time of the paper(s) they intend to write. The 'Walk-in-Candidate' fee is Forty-Five Thousand Naira (N45,000.00) only.
Candidates with special needs will also register online like other candidates but they must clearly state their Impairments. They can visit accredited banks, Cyber Cafes, WAEC offices, and 'WAEC REGISTRATION POINTS' nearest to them for PIN purchase and registration.
Candidates MUST conclude registration within two weeks of first access to the website during the registration period. They should ensure that their names, gender, passport photographs, dates of birth, and subjects are correct. They are also to print the Admission Notice, as Evidence of successful registration, which will serve as identification during the examination.
The examination will be computer-based test. The objective papers will be fully CBT, while the essay and test of practical examinations will be hybrid examination. There will be an online Mock examination for interested candidates who registered for the examination and want to familiarize themselves with the testing environment.
Candidates must note that the registration fee is not refundable. They should continue to check the website for the examination Timetable and study the Regulations and Syllabuses for the examination which they can download from the WAEC website using the Registration PIN.
