The Council of Legal Education has praised Bola Ajibola College of Law (BACOLAW) of Crescent University, Abeokuta, following its recent accreditation visit. The council described the facilities and human resources as impressive.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila, announced the news to the university community after receiving a confirmation letter from the Council. According to the letter, dated 24th April 2026, and signed by the Secretary to the Council and Director of Administration, Ms Aderonke Osho, Crescent University's quota to the Nigerian Law School has been increased from 70 to 120.
This increase means that Crescent University can now admit a total of 120 students into the Bola Ajibola College of Law (BACOLAW) from the 2026/2027 academic session. The last accreditation visit by the Council to Crescent University took place on February 23, 2026, led by the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Dr Olugbemisola Titilayo Odusote.
The visitation team assessed the quality and compliance of staffing, admission intake, library, and other facilities. The exit report revealed that all facilities met on the ground were commendable and impressive, including lecturers' offices, law library, e-library, staff common room, students' common room, auditorium, law clinic, and faculty vehicles.
It's worth noting that some graduates of BACOLAW who graduated with first class from Crescent University have also achieved first class at their bar finals in the Nigerian Law School. These include Qudus Akintola, Zainab Akinde, and Haishat Oladunni Majolagbe. Students of BACOLAW have also won numerous national and international awards, competitions, and recommendations.
The vice chancellor recalled that another final-year student of BACOLAW, Mujeebat Idris, won the seventh edition of the Alao Adavise National Essay Competition on privacy and data protection in 2025. Her essay, titled “The Invisible Audience: Can Online Platforms Safeguard Youth Privacy?”, was selected as the best among over 300 entries submitted nationwide.
