Ebonyi State reduced corps members monthly allowance from N130,000 to N15,000 for Doctors and N5,000 for Pharmacists and Nurses. Reduction was blamed on dwindling economic realities of the country.
According to a letter addressed to The Executive Governor from the states Ag. Accountant-General in person of Pastor Mrs. Queen Elizabeth Agwu, currently, the medical doctors are receiving N130,000.00, Pharmacist, N91,000.00 and Nurses N79,000.00 as monthly allowance respectively. Their propose monthly allowance should be N15,000.00 for Medical Doctors Corps Members and N5,000.00 for Pharmacist, Nurses and other auxilliary Corps Members.
This development according to the letter was due to the Executive governors directive that all the states expenditure be reviewed in line with the financial realities on ground.
This should take effect from September, 2015
