The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has addressed reports from some media outlets claiming that the institution's admission portal was inaccessible to prospective candidates for the 78 Regular Course, resulting in frustration among those trying to complete their registration.
The Academy categorically denies these claims, stating they do not reflect the realities of the admission process. The application portal for the 78 Regular Course was open from 28 November 2025 to 30 April 2026 and was later extended to 15 May 2026, in line with the approved admission schedule. Throughout this period, the portal remained accessible to all candidates.
Candidates who scored 180 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (JAMB) and selected NDA as their first choice institution received an email on 19 May 2026, prompting them to register for the NDA Screening Test by 24 May 2026. Information about application procedures, timelines, and requirements was disseminated through various official channels, including the NDA website, the application portal www.ndaapplications.net, official social media platforms, and direct email notifications to applicants.
The Academy provided ample time for candidates to complete all registration requirements, including generating Remita Retrieval References (RRRs), paying application fees, and submitting application forms. Candidates were regularly advised to monitor official communication channels for updates and important notices throughout the application period.
The allegation that some candidates received privileged or advance information is unfounded. The Academy maintains a transparent, merit-based, and equitable admission process, offering all eligible applicants an equal opportunity. No individual or group was given preferential access to registration information or procedures.
The NDA operates a structured and time-bound admission process to ensure proper planning and conduct of its screening and selection activities. Consequently, candidates who did not complete the required registration processes within the stipulated timeframe cannot participate in the NDA Screening Test scheduled for 20 June 2026.
The Academy remains committed to transparency, fairness, and excellence in conducting its admission processes. It urges the public to rely only on information disseminated through its official communication channels.
