The Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) invites qualified 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) candidates seeking admissions for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.
To be eligible for the screening, candidates must have scored a minimum of 160 in their 2026/2027 JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and made FUTIA their First choice. Additionally, candidates who made the University their 1st choice in the 2026/2027 JAMB Direct Entry application are also invited for the screening exercise. Candidates who did not choose FUTIA as their first choice but scored a minimum of 160 can apply on the condition that they change their first choice to FUTIA on the JAMB CAPS.
Eligible candidates must have passed a minimum of 5 relevant subjects at credit level in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or equivalent in not more than two sittings, including English and Mathematics. They must also be 16 years old and above by September 30, 2026. Candidates are required to upload their O'level results on JAMB CAPS not later than August 31, 2026.
Available programmes in the University include School of Computing and Information Technology, School of Engineering and Engineering Technology, School of Pure and Applied Sciences, School of Management Technology, and School of Environmental Science and Technology. These schools offer various courses such as Computer Science, Cyber Security, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Architecture.
Registration for the 2026/2027 Screening Exercise commences on Monday, June 22, 2026, on the University's Portal. To register, candidates should visit http://portal.futia.edu.ng, click on 'Click here to apply', and follow the registration procedure. After a successful payment, candidates should print their completed registration form and payment receipt.
Note that there would be a four-week grace period within which all approved admissions must be accepted by candidates. Candidates who do not register for the Post-UTME Screening Exercise would not be considered for admission. Candidates with awaiting results may apply but must ensure that their O'Level results are uploaded appropriately at the JAMB Portal (CAPS) on or before August 31, 2026. The University advises candidates to visit only the University website for any information or inquiry and to send an email to the registrar or enquiries email for any difficulty.
