The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, has secured approval from the National Universities Commission to commence six new undergraduate academic programmes on a full-time basis, effective from the 2026/2027 academic session.
This approval comes after a successful Resource Assessment Visit conducted by the Commission to evaluate the university's preparedness and the availability of necessary human and material resources for the proposed programmes.
In a letter addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, the Executive Secretary of the NUC conveyed the Commission's approval for the establishment of the programmes following a thorough consideration of the outcome of the resource assessment exercise.
The newly approved programmes include: - Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Geophysics - Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Public Health - Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Biotechnology - Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Science Laboratory Technology - Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Water, Sanitation and Hygiene - Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Clothing and Textile
The approval signifies a significant milestone in the university's commitment to expanding its academic offerings, enhancing manpower development, and responding to emerging national and global needs in science, technology, health, and sustainable development.
