In response to this post, a host of highly intellectual educationist debated constructively on the advantages and the disadvantages of the new Joint Admission and Matriculation Board policy.
The "*" indicated a new opinion in the thread.
What's your own view about this so-called "NEW POLICY"
* Na Jamb do mistake........Dibu should have let them wait till next......since they didn't meet up with the cut-off......Instead of subscribing them to a new university..!!!
* It is not a crisis..........DIBU has done the right thing..........JONA did nothing during is time.......except to change UNILAG to MAULAG
* Abo oro la'nso f'omoluabi
* M
* Done the right thing by making choices for people without their consent? I really don't blame you.
* Lol
* he didn't make choice for people...........he actually gave them a second chance, since they didn't meet up with the new cut-off of the top 5 best university.....try to read THE NEW JAMB POLICY
* Who said they didn't meet up
* When they've not written postjamb
* The general cut-off for jamb was 180 for all univeristies announced by DIBU.....latter new cut-off mark was released for some specific courses in the top 5 best univeristies in Nigeria.
* When was it released
* Kindly paste a copy if u have it
* the transfer was based on cut off, my students who scored above 270 are writing Unilag post utme. The only thing wrong is that Parents were not informed. Another one who scored 224 for G and C in education was also considered
* Thank u @pelultate
* Someone has 260 and was denied
* Someone with 204 was considered
* So where is the cutoff
* which course did he applied for.......?
* How many student have u observed before coming to a conclusion
* Almost 10
* Some people checked the first day and were considered, but on rechecking the next day, they found out that they've been denied the opportunity again
* Medicine and surgery
* One scored 279 and the second one for medicine and surgery score 284
* the cut-off mark is in jamb office
* I think Catchment areas were considered too
* It's a nice idea though........maybe not properly done
* A lot of people using Lagos state as state of origin were transfered because the cut off for Lagos was high
* Nice idea, where? Maybe if this happens to you. You will reconsider your support for that anomalies...
Change in policy without informing anybody, No consultations, nothing nothing. What is good in a policy you just woke up and realised things have change, and you are affected.
Do you know, many of the candidates considered would have engage in malpractices (runs) and here, postutme, where 205 in jamb will gain admission and 280 will be sent home due to poor performance in post utme has now been blocked forever! New policy without informing anyone, and you credit such act!For every change there is always a sacrifice............
* oshodi market will not be like dat without sacrifice
* Why not allow them prove them self right by writing postutme or wrong as the case maybe, then help by referring them to the less privilege university as he claimed
* The sacrifice you spoke of doesn't correlate
* Well that's cool
But y not study harder if u wanna get admission in the top 5 university...............
* It's still the same procedure they use before the introduction of post utme
* Which study harder na...you want to tell me you are in darkness that most who score high engage in malpractices...
* Many a times the 205 students still beat them in the postutme and get the admission ahead of them or top them on list if they still manage to make it
* How then can those poor kids who doesn't engage in malpractices prove themselves, when they have already been denied totally
* Don't forget......the 205 student beat them becos they chose a course that meet up with their cut-off........stop being SENTIMENTAL.......jamb is not BIASED.......let's call a spade a SPADE
* Another disaster I just deduced now this will lead to is more people joining malpractices... When your friend score 280 with runs and was consider. Still you want lag, you will just wait for next exam and gladly do runs too and score 300
* You can say that again bcos you are not affected
* Sentimental. Is 180 or 200 not the regular cutoff ever since
* Y r only looking @ the disadvantage what about the advantages
* Abi what are you saying na...I know get again sir
* The advantage can come after those innocent kids have been allowed to prove themselves first....definitely many of them will still get the admission because they will do well in the postutme. Then jamb can help the remaining by referring them...why solving a problem that have not even showcased... You can only plan for such...will you be using cancer/ headache drugs because you feel you will soon have it ...it is not bad having the drugs in store then use to cure when the problem posed...
* well, the only problem with this policy is dat most people are not aware......but it's quite a good policy.......I'm ok with ur opinion sha
* Good sir
