JAMB 2019 exam date: When will JAMB examination start for 2019/2020? If this is your question, continue reading the article below.

JAMB exam date for 2019/2020 UTME exercise has changed.

JAMB 2019 Exam Date – When JAMB Examination Will Start

JAMB had previously announced that the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will start March 16, 2019 and end March 23, 2019.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board have held several meetings to decide the new date Jamb will be shifted to. This is no longer true both the mock exam date and main exam dates had been changed.

According to JAMB, the new JAMB mock exam date for 2019 is now April 1, 2019 while the main UTME has been shifted to April 11, 2019.

Also, candidates can start to reprint their JAMB UTME slip for 2019 starting from April 4, 2019.

Those who have previously checked their JAMB mock slip do not need to reprint it as all the details (Examination centre and date) will remain the same.

LATEST NEWS UPDATE: JAMB has re-opened the registration portal for those who have purchased their e-PIN till 15th March, 2019 (by midnight).

JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, said these changes are due to ”certain circumstances beyond the Board’s control” and that  “All candidates who registered for the 2019 UTME are to ensure that they print their examination notification slips before the day of the examination as no excuses would be entertained. The public should note that the Board would not reschedule examination for any candidate,” he said.

“The elections have been shifted and we are also watching other government programmes. If for any reason they affect our timetable, we will not be averse to shifting. But as it is now, our date stands,” the body told NAN.

“If they do elections and there is a need to do a run-off and it enters another week, of course, it will affect our programmes, then we will adjust appropriately.

“Our mock examination was supposed to start this weekend. Now that INEC has shifted the presidential elections to this weekend, certainly mock examination will not take place that day.

“A new date for the mock examination will soon be announced to candidates. But for the examination, the date earlier scheduled stands.

“No date has been picked for the mock. We are still looking at other things.”

Talking on the improvement in the various CBT centres, he said: “We are now moving to improve the services at the centres particularly the CBT offices across the country. They are in shambles and we want to pay attention to the facilities at the states level.

“We want to also provide incentives for our staff. We believe that some of them are forced by necessity to do unethical things and we believe if we increase their welfare, it will have more legitimate ground to sanction those who do what they are not supposed to do.”

For blind candidates,  Oloyede said: “The blind candidates will have special centres. Some of our officials will be in the UK next week where all the assessment bodies who are attending to the blind will meet with a way of finding the best technology to use for them at the cheapest price because of the rate of exchange.

“For those who can use brail machine, they are available, we will give them but for those who are not used to such, we will use the best method and that’s why we have set up a committee of experts under Professor Peter Okebukola to look for all-inclusive methods to attend and bend to suit the purposes of all these peculiar candidates.”
