The Federal University of Technology, Ilaro, has issued a stern warning to its students regarding access to facilities and the upcoming 2025/2026 First Semester Examinations. In a memo dated February 26, 2026, the Registrar announced that due to a significant number of returning students failing to pay the approved service charges, Management will enforce strict measures.
Attendance at the examinations will be strictly biometric, and only students with the official 2025/2026 Student Identification Card will be eligible to sit for the exams. This directive extends beyond the exam hall, as students without the current ID card are barred from attending lectures and tests, including those in ND I, ND II, HND I, HND II, part-time, and ODFL programmes.
The institution will launch an “Operation Show Your Receipt and ID Card” exercise next week, during which students must present their official receipt of payment alongside their ID card to access any facility. The crackdown affects all student services, including medical attention, library access, ICT facilities, innovation centre, studios, laboratories, and workshops.
The memo, signed by Mr. S. M. F. Babatola, Chairman of the Security Committee, clearly states: “No Current Identification Card, No Access to Institutional Facilities and No First Semester Examination.” All affected students are advised to regularise their status without further delay to avoid being denied access to these essential services.
