This notice is addressed to all students of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). The Students’ Union Government (SUG) has released an advisory concerning transport charges from Camp Junction to the hostels and the proper pedestrian route around the University Gate.

The advisory, dated 21 September 2026, follows several complaints of drivers demanding excessive fees and intimidating commuters travelling between the University Gate and their residences.

Transport Fares From Camp Junction to Hostels

The SUG has outlined the following fee structure for students moving from Camp Junction to their hostels:

• ₦700 for a passenger travelling without any load.
• ₦1,000 for a passenger carrying a light load.
• ₦1,200 as the ceiling fare for a passenger with a heavy load.

Students are urged to refuse any payment that exceeds these amounts. Should any driver attempt to overcharge or extort, the incident must be reported straight away to the SUG officials listed below:

Pedestrian Movement From the University Gate

The Students’ Union Government also reminds students to make use of the official pedestrian walkway when walking from the University Gate toward Motion Ground.

Anyone entering the campus on foot should stay on the left‑hand side path that has been designated for pedestrian traffic.

The SUG cautions students against walking on the opposite side of the road. Violators of this directive may face appropriate disciplinary action as determined by the union.
