The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has issued details on the steps graduating students must take to obtain medical clearance at the university’s Medical Centre.
The guidance appears in a notice dated October 19, 2026, signed by the Office of the SUG Director of Health.
The notice states that final‑year students should follow the appropriate route depending on whether they have already registered with the FUTO Medical Centre.
Those who are already registered are instructed to move from the Bursary directly to the Office of the Medical Director.
The communication also makes clear that these students are not required to visit the Records Unit.
Students who have never registered at the Medical Centre are told to first go to the designated micro‑finance bank to settle the required fee.
After completing the payment, they should proceed to the Bursary to continue the clearance process.
The SUG Director of Health appealed to all graduating students to adhere to the relevant procedures to prevent avoidable delays in their medical clearance.
Graduates were additionally asked to pass the information along to peers who may also need it.
