Kariyoma College of Nursing Sciences, located in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has been granted approval to establish its operations. This decision follows a thorough application process and an on-site Approval/Resources Inspection visit.
The approval, as conveyed by the Honourable Minister of Education, includes a fixed effective date. As stated in the notice, the approval takes effect from 6 February 2026, under the provision of Act CAP E3 LPN 2004.
In addition to the institutional approval, the Board has granted Interim Accreditation for specific academic programmes. These include Institutional Administration, which has been granted approval, and ND Nursing Sciences. The approval for these programmes is conditional, tied to the specified number of streams, and the College must comply with all relevant government regulations and policies applicable to private polytechnics and similar institutions.
Admissions for the approved programmes are set to commence with the 2025/2026 session. However, there is a condition attached to this approval: if admission does not occur within the specified period, the approval will lapse. In such a case, the College would need to undergo a fresh Resources Inspection visit before proceeding with admissions.
The approved programme will be due for Initial Accreditation when the first set of students reach their third or fourth semester of study, as outlined in the approval notice.
