The Dennis Osadebay University in Asaba, Delta State, has announced its maiden convocation ceremony. This event is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Convocation Arena, starting at 10:00 AM. The ceremony will include the award of first degrees, recognitions, and presentation of prizes.
According to a statement by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ben Emukufia Akpoyomare Oghojafor, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Staff, and Students, a week-long series of activities will precede the convocation.
The highlights of the Convocation Week include: - A pre-convocation interdenominational service on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 8:00 AM at the Chapel of The Resurrection, Anglican Communion, Dennis Osadebay University Asaba. - A pre-convocation press conference by the Vice Chancellor on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Main Auditorium. - A convocation lecture and opening of an exhibition on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM at the Main Auditorium and Exhibition Arena. - A Founders Day Lecture on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Main Auditorium, followed by a convocation drama titled Itoha written by Julia Okoh and performed by the DOU Creative Arts Department at 4:30 PM. - The convocation ceremony for the awards of first degrees, recognitions, and presentation of prizes on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Convocation Arena, and an Alumni Reception Evening at 4:30 PM. - A post-convocation thanksgiving mass on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 7:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Chaplaincy, DOU.
