The Federal University of Technology, Owerri invites suitable qualified candidates with 2026 UTME Results to apply for admissions.
To be eligible, candidates must have applied to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for 2026 undergraduate admission, chosen the Federal University of Technology, Owerri as their university of First Choice, and sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or applied for Direct Entry (DE) admission.
The application commences on Friday, May 22, 2026, and closes on Friday, July 31, 2026. Candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, and have scored a minimum of 150 in their UTME. Each candidate must ensure that their JAMB subject combination is as prescribed in the JAMB brochure for the programme applied for.
Candidates who did not choose FUTO as their university of First Choice but scored a minimum of 150 can also apply on the condition that they visit JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) and change to FUTO on or before July 31, 2026. Only candidates with at least 5 O’Level Credit passes in English Language and Mathematics, and three other relevant O’Level subjects at not more than two sittings are eligible to apply.
The minimum JAMB Score requirements for application into various programmes are as follows: Programmes requiring a minimum JAMB Score of 150 include Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, and more. Programmes requiring a minimum JAMB Score of 170 include Computer Science, Cyber Security Science, and Information Technology. The MBBS programme requires a minimum JAMB Score of 200.
Direct Entry candidates must be holders of A‘Level in relevant subjects or OND/HND/First Degree in relevant disciplines. Eligible candidates are required to pay an application fee of Two Thousand Naira (N2, 000.00). The 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry Screening Exercise shall be based on verified JAMB scores and O’Level results uploaded on JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
