Professor Kabiru Olawale Paramole of the Department of Religions and Peace Studies has emerged as the new Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Lagos State University.

The election took place on Tuesday, 14th July 2026, at the New TETFund Postgraduate Hall 1, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.

Professor Paramole won the election with fifty-one votes, defeating Professor Isaac Adeniyi Yekini-Ajenifuja of the Department of Music, who secured forty-seven votes. The total number of votes cast was one hundred and one, with three votes declared void.

The result was announced by Mr Samuel Gbedozin, the Deputy Registrar/Faculty Officer and Returning Officer, who declared Professor Paramole duly elected as the Dean-designate of the Faculty of Arts.

The current Dean, Professor Ayo Ayodele, will complete his tenure on Friday, 31st July 2026.

Professor Paramole is set to assume office on Saturday, 1st August 2026.

Following the election, Professor Ayodele congratulated the Dean-designate and expressed confidence that his tenure would further enhance the academic excellence and development of the Faculty of Arts.
