The University Management has reiterated that the ban on Students' Union activities is still in effect and has not been lifted. This reminder applies to all students.
In line with an earlier decision, the Management has established a Transition Committee. The role of this committee is to develop appropriate guidelines for conducting Students' Union elections. It is expected that the committee will complete its task within the first three weeks of the 2026/2027 Academic Session.
A memo signed by the University Registrar, Amb. Gabriel O. Egbe, Ph.D., conveyed this information. The Registrar emphasized that no individual or group has been authorized to issue forms or engage in any process aimed at conducting elections into any association or union within the University.
The Registrar further stated that any such activity is unauthorized, invalid, and should be disregarded by all students. He advised students to remain law-abiding, focus on their academic pursuits, and await official communication from the University regarding Students' Union matters.
The Management appreciates the cooperation and understanding of all students. It assures them of its commitment to ensuring a transparent, orderly, and inclusive process for the restoration of Students' Union activities.
This information was communicated by Comrd. Francis Agbor, the Ag. Director of Information.
