The Barau I. Jibrin Foundation has launched its annual scholarship program for the 2025/2026 academic session, targeting students of Kano North origin studying at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi, Kano.
A total of 4,183 students from Kano North are set to benefit from the financial grant. Students enrolled in Degree programs will receive ₦50,000 each, while those in NCE programs will be awarded ₦20,000 per beneficiary.
The scholarship award ceremony is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 21st January 2026, at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi, by 10:00 AM. To be eligible, prospective beneficiaries must present both originals and photocopies of the following documents: Student ID Card, Evidence of Registration, Admission Letter, Indigene Letter, and National ID Card.
The foundation emphasized that only students who are indigenes of Kano North and whose names appear on the list submitted by the college to the BIJF are eligible to receive the award. The announcement was signed by Dr. Maikudi Lawan, Secretary of the Committee acting on behalf of the Chief of Staff to the Deputy President of the Senate. This initiative is part of the foundation's ongoing commitment to supporting education and reducing financial burdens for students within Kano North Senatorial District.
