The Students' Union Government of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, has announced the cancellation of the Biochemistry course registration fee for 200 and 300-level students in the College of Medicine.

In a circular, the SUG President, Comr. Kelvin Onah M, the Secretary General, Comr. Okolo Bethel, and His Excellency, Comr. Jumbo Princess Somezikam, confirmed that the fee was already included in the approved tuition after a thorough review of the payment structure.

Following a meeting with the Department of Biochemistry, the department has been informed that the separate charge is no longer required. The SUG stated that students are no longer required to make any separate payment for Biochemistry Registration, except for the N5,000 for the Biochemistry Manual.

The SUG assured students who had already made the payment that they would be refunded, with further details on the refund process to be communicated soon. This development is seen as a major victory for student advocacy in the institution.
