The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, has announced the programme of events for the 29th and 30th Combined Convocation Ceremonies for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Academic Sessions.
The events are scheduled to hold from Wednesday, 12th August to Sunday, 23rd August 2026.
The programme of events includes Pre-Convocation Events, starting with a Convocation Press Conference on Day 1, Wednesday, 12th August 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Senate Chamber, Ojo Campus, followed by a Convocation Sports Competition for Staff at 12:00 noon at the LASU Sports Centre.
Convocation Events will commence on Day 2, Thursday, 13th August 2026, with a Staff Celebration Day at 2:00 p.m. at Buba Marwa Auditorium, Ojo. Other events include Coconut Breaking and Cultural Day, Convocation Jumat Service, Award of Diplomas and Degrees, Convocation Lecture, and Award of PhDs and Honorary Doctorate Degrees.
A Special Convocation Thanksgiving Service will hold on Sunday, 23rd August 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the University Chapel, Ojo.
Graduands are required to pay for the convocation package via the official portal and return their academic gowns by Friday, 21st August 2026. Late returns will attract a fine of N1,000.00 per day. Certificates will be available for collection immediately after the ceremony upon return of academic gowns.
Graduands must join the procession by 9:00 a.m. and be properly robed in their faculty colors. Parents and guests should be seated no later than 8:30 a.m. each day. Graduands are also required to complete clearance in their respective Colleges/Schools/Faculties before the convocation.
