The University of Abuja's Sustainable Development Centre (SDC) is now accepting applications for its postgraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 Batch A, Stream 8 academic session.
Available courses include the Doctor of Sustainable Development, Professional Master's Degree Programmes (both full-time and part-time), and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programmes (also full-time and part-time). The Master's Degree Programmes cover Sustainable Development Studies, Climate & Society Studies, Peace & Conflict Studies, and Migration Studies. The PGD Programmes are offered in Sustainable Development Studies, Climate & Society Studies, Peace & Conflict Studies, and Migration Studies.
To be eligible for admission, applicants must meet certain requirements. For O'Level, five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English and Mathematics, are required at not more than two sittings. A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline, with not less than a Second-Class Honours Lower Division, is also necessary. For PGD candidates, a Third-Class Degree or Higher National Diploma (Lower Credit) from a recognised institution may be considered. Additionally, a discharge certificate or exemption letter from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is required.
Specific requirements apply to the Doctor of Sustainable Development programme, which demands a Master's Degree in relevant fields of Science, Social and Management Science, Humanities, Education, or Environmental Science. The duration of this programme is 36 months.
The duration of other programmes varies: Master's Degree Programmes last a minimum of four semesters and a maximum of six semesters for full-time students, and a minimum of six semesters and a maximum of eight semesters for part-time students. Postgraduate Diploma Programmes take a minimum of two semesters and a maximum of four semesters for full-time students, and a minimum of four semesters and a maximum of six semesters for part-time students.
