Bayero University Kano Opens 2025/2026 Part-Time Degree Admission For Qualified Candidates

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) is now accepting applications from qualified candidates for part-time degree programs for the 2025/2026 academic session. The university offers multiple admission routes to suit different applicants:
    •    SSCE O Level or Equivalent (Non-UTME candidates)
    •    UTME candidates
    •    Direct Entry (D.E) candidates

Candidates are advised to first check the available courses and ensure they match their preferred entry route—one small step that makes a big difference.

Admission Requirements

1. Non-UTME Candidates (O Level Only)
Applicants can apply without JAMB if they have:
    •    At least five O level credits, including English
    •    Results from no more than two sittings

2. UTME Candidates (O Level + JAMB)
    •    Minimum JAMB score: 180, with BUK as the chosen university, for priority consideration
    •    Extra subject rules for certain courses:
    •    B.Sc. Accounting, B.Sc. Business Administration, B.Sc. Mathematics, B.Sc. (Ed) Mathematics, B.Sc. Health Education, and B.Sc. (Ed) Economics require O Level Mathematics credit
    •    NBAIS holders are limited to applying only for B.A. Arabic and B.A. Islamic Studies

3. Direct Entry (D.E) Candidates
Applicants must meet the following:
    •    Hold a recognized advanced-level qualification linked to the course (ND, NCE, IJMB minimum 6 points, Nursing Certificate, Diploma in Health Education, Diploma in Community Health, Diploma in Environmental Health, GCE A Level, or equivalent)
    •    At least five O level credits, including English
    •    25 years old and above

Additional subject-specific requirements for D.E applicants:
    •    B.Sc. Accounting, B.Sc. Business Administration, B.Sc. Mathematics, B.Sc. (Ed) Mathematics, B.Sc. (Ed) Economics: O level Mathematics credit required
    •    B.Nursing Science and B.Sc. Health Education: credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
    •    NBAIS holders: limited to B.A. Arabic and B.A. Islamic Studies
    •    B.Sc. Public Administration: credit in Government/History required

How to Apply

Step 1: JAMB Platform
    •    Use the JAMB online application platform for UTME/part-time degree
    •    Select BUK, fill the form, and pay ₦3,500 (non-refundable)

Step 2: BUK Portal
    •    Visit the BUK official website and click the Part-Time Application Form link
    •    Log in with your selected program and gender

Step 3: Account Setup
    •    Create a portal account to receive a username and password

Step 4: Complete Application
    •    Fill all required sections carefully

Step 5: Payment
    •    Generate a personalized invoice, print it, and pay ₦5,000 at any bank
    •    Follow payment instructions on the portal

Step 6: Review
    •    Double-check all personal details, names, and dates

Step 7: JAMB Number
    •    Enter your JAMB number before printing the acknowledgement slip

Step 8: Print Acknowledgement Slip
    •    Keep the slip safe; it will be needed for admission collection and registration
