The University of Jos' Faculty Presidents’ Forum has released a press statement concerning the 2025/2026 academic session, focusing on key updates regarding General Studies (GST) payments and form collection. Following successful negotiations with the university, the Forum has introduced a more transparent process to ease the financial burden on students.
For returning students (200 Level and above), there's no need to pay GST fees or purchase textbooks. They can collect their GST forms for free at the Directorate of General Studies by presenting a verified school fee receipt.
New students (100 Level), on the other hand, need to collect their GST forms at the Directorate of General Studies upon presenting their verified school fee receipt. They will only need to pay ₦1,000 for the GST handbook.
The Forum urges all students who haven't collected their GST forms to do so immediately at the Directorate of General Studies. It also warns against extortion, stating that any payment requests outside the official ₦1,000 for new students or any fees for returning students should be reported to the authorities.
The statement, signed by Chris Nson Jr (Chairman), Godiah Israel Ibrahim (Secretary), and Dongjep Martin’s Humphrey (PRO), highlights the Forum's commitment to fairness and student welfare.
