The management of Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, has formally notified all students about a comprehensive ban on all sign-out graduation celebrations.

Key Directives and Consequences

To ensure full compliance with the ban, the Polytechnic's management has outlined specific directives and the consequences of violating these rules:

• Mandatory Undertaking: Graduating students must sign an undertaking at their Head of Department's office, acknowledging the ban and its consequences, which include cancellation of final examinations.
• Prohibition of Celebrations: All sign-out activities, including the spraying of money within or outside the campus, are strictly prohibited, with offenders facing session repetition or expulsion.
• Intoxicants and Illicit Substances: Possession, consumption, or trading of alcoholic drinks, illicit drugs, or intoxicants within the Polytechnic premises will lead to immediate expulsion.
• Weapon Control: Students found with or trading firearms or dangerous weapons within or outside the school will be expelled.
• Conduct and Reputation: Immoral, indecent, or disrespectful conduct that tarnishes the Polytechnic's reputation will result in at least one session of rustication or outright expulsion.
• Examination Integrity: Departments and invigilators are instructed to query students wearing sign-out regalia in examination halls.
• Prohibition of Occultism: Practices of sorcery, magic, juju, or related activities under the guise of signing out are banned and will result in expulsion.

The institution has stressed that these measures are for strict adherence. Copies of this directive have been sent to the Rector, Deputy Rectors, Deans, Heads of Departments, the Chief Security Officer, and the Students Union Government President to ensure enforcement across the institution.
