In a recent development, the Management of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has taken the decision to postpone the resumption of students and the commencement of academic activities. This announcement was made in a press release dated Friday, January 9, 2026, following approval by the University Management on behalf of the Senate, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mrs. Eunice Eboisenhien Omonzejie.
The reason behind this postponement is to allow the University to complete the ongoing renovation works on student structures and facilities. The goal is to improve the overall teaching and learning environment, which will ultimately benefit the students by providing a more conducive atmosphere for academic excellence. The Management has emphasized that this temporary adjustment is in the best interest of the students.
Students who are still residing in the hostels have been advised to vacate the premises immediately. This will enable the renovation works to proceed without any hindrances. Although a new resumption date has not been announced yet, the University has assured that it will be communicated in due course. In the meantime, students are urged to comply with the directive.
In addition to the postponement of resumption, the 140th Inaugural Lecture, which was initially scheduled for Thursday, January 15, 2026, has also been postponed. The ongoing examinations have been affected as well, and new dates for both the lecture and the completion of the examinations will be announced soon. The University is working to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and updated on the new arrangements.
The Management of AAU has expressed its appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of students, parents, and guardians. It has urged all students to adhere strictly to the revised resumption schedule once it is announced. Parents and guardians have also been requested to ensure that their wards are aware of and comply with the new arrangements. For any further inquiries, the public has been advised to contact the Office of the Head, Information, Protocol and Public Relations.
