The Students' Union at Obafemi Awolowo University has announced the end of its 72-hour lecture boycott. Following successful negotiations with the university management, all academic activities are set to resume normally from Friday, 17th April 2026.
The Students' Union leadership has expressed its gratitude to the student body for their cooperation and resilience during the boycott period. The union notes that the students' unity and discipline made the peaceful protest possible.
Details of the negotiations' outcome will be shared with the students once they are concluded and will also be presented at the next Congress. The union has assured the university community that it remains committed to its demands, particularly those related to the new transportation system, and will continue to engage with the management until all issues are resolved.
The union urges all students to remain vigilant, united, and law-abiding as they move forward. It also calls on stakeholders and sister unions to continue supporting the struggle for improved student welfare.
The Students' Union has signed off on the announcement, marking the end of the boycott and the resumption of academic activities.
